Moisture controls mold growth, which is why mold often shows up in the bathroom. If you have mold in your bathroom, here are four safe are a few ways to remove it:

  1. Baking Soda and Bleach

Baking soda is a great cleaning agent, and with just a little hot water and soap, it can remove most of the mold in your bathroom. For a bathroom cleaning recipe just take one teaspoon of liquid soap, one cup of baking soda and several drops of an essential oil (something like lavender or peppermint etc.) and then add enough water to make your concoction into a paste.

Once your paste is ready, mix a solution of one part bleach and two parts water and then transfer it to a spray bottle. Spray the affected area, wait for it to dry, and the brush it off with a cleaning brush and the paste until the mold is gone.

  1. Vinegar

Pour mild white vinegar into a spray bottle without diluting it. Spray the vinegar onto the moldy surface and wait for one hour before wiping the area down with hot water. Make sure to completely dry the area once you’re finished, as mold likes to grow in wet and warm environments.

  1. Borax

Mix one gallon of water with one cup of borax, and then use the solution to attack the moldy surface with a brush. Make sure to wipe up the borax solution, and then let it dry.

  1. Ammonia

Be sure not to mix bleach and ammonia together because combined, the solution creates dangerous fumes. Also be sure to only use “clear ammonia.” Put the ammonia in a spray bottle and spray the moldy area and then clean with a bristled cleaning brush.

If you’re still having trouble even after using these cleaning methods, call Allied Restoration Company at 425-458-5756 to schedule a professional mold test.
